How to Create and Send an Invoice by Text
By InvoicePaw · Updated
With InvoicePaw, you text the invoice details to us. Your customer receives the invoice by email—not by a text message from us. You stay in your messaging app while they get a professional PDF invoice.
Start with a text and set up your business
Text HI to the InvoicePaw number shown on this site. We’ll ask for your business name, email and address. You can send those details together in ordinary language rather than filling out a separate dashboard.
Review your business details and tax setting before confirming setup. A suggested tax setting is not a determination of what your business should charge; confirm the setting that applies to your work.
Describe the work, customer and due date
Include who to bill, their email, the work performed, each amount and when payment is due. Multiple charges can go in the same message. You don’t need to memorize a special invoice format.
If information is missing or unclear, InvoicePaw asks for it. Use an explicit date when a relative date could be confusing, and say whether a quoted amount includes tax when that matters.

Payment instructions: Pay by e-Transfer to the business email above. Include invoice #1024 as the reference.
Fictional example, not payable. The 13% tax is for illustration, not a recommendation for your business. Confirm the applicable tax and include your tax registration number when required. Your invoice uses your own business and payment details.
Review the draft before replying YES
You’ll receive a text summary and a link to the full draft preview. Check the recipient, separate line items, tax, total, balance due and due date. The preview is view-only; it isn’t an issued invoice.
Need a correction? Describe it in a reply, such as “make materials $230” or “change the due date to November 15.” Review the updated draft. Only reply YES when you want it sent, or DISCARD to cancel it.
Your customer gets an email; you get a confirmation
After you confirm and delivery succeeds, you receive a confirmation with the invoice link. The customer’s invoice page supports viewing, printing and downloading the PDF. If you registered a business email, it receives a copy of the invoice email too.
InvoicePaw does not collect your customer’s payment. Include your own payment instructions, and mark an invoice paid by text when you receive payment. You can ask for your invoice history or available sends in the same conversation.
What it costs
Your first three invoice sends each month are free. Additional sends cost $0.99 each in your account currency, purchased in packs of five or more. Paid credits never expire. There is no subscription and no automatic reload; previews and drafts don’t use a send.
